Descriptions of each Board position can be found here:
Help make a difference in the AMES Community
The 2026-2027 school year is quickly approaching & we have 6 open seats available on our Antelope Meadows PTA Board. Having these seats filled is crucial to the success of our Antelope Meadows PTA and the events and programs we sponsor as well as the activities we fund.
We know life is busy and parents are even busier. Everyone on the current board has work or sports or other business obligations. We work together as a team, filling in the gaps where help is needed & we all do as much or as little as we can. Time commitment ebbs and flows, but the impact on your child's school and the Antelope Meadows Community is priceless.
If you are interested in any of the Board Positions below, please fill out this form by April 5, 2026. PTA Elections will be held on April 29, 2026 at our General Meeting. We'd love to have you!
We must have a president, treasurer, and secretary, minimum. We are currently looking to fill the Secretary position, in addition to VP Membership, VP Fundraising, auditor, historian and parlimamentarian.
What would your commitment look like?
At minimum, the Board meets for one 1+ hour a month Zoom board meeting and 5 general meetings per school year. Those are required. Each board member also chooses which event or program committees to participate in. We have multiple events and fundraisers throughout the year that involve the formation of committees to plan and implement while staying within the budget allotted for them. This goes without saying that more involved Board positions, like the President and Communications, more than likely need to be involved in all of them in some form.
We’ll be real… we need committed Board Members. There are roles that require less work than others, but at the end of the day, Board Members are the individuals that handle the leads on all of the events or programs and delegate out tasks to our active committee members, if we get the help. It usually comes down to us. We can’t pour from empty cups- everyone has to help each other and utilize all of our individual talents to help our group and Antelope Meadows PTA as a whole, thrive.
We run large scale fundraisers and events due to just how large our student body population is, while working within limited budget margins as to not be frivolous with the monies raised in our fundraisers. Things are expensive, and we aim to get as most bang-for-our-buck as we can while still offering quality events, opportunities, or prizes.
You can nominate someone or yourself to run for any/all positions, but can only be elected to and hold one board position. Does this sound like something you’d like to be part of? Nominate yourself below!
A potential nominee:
Must be a PTA member 30 days preceding the election (Join here)
Must be enthusiastic and supportive of the PTA
Should be relied upon to give PTA a satisfactory level of priority and commitment
Should have good relationships with people
Must be at least 18 years old to be elected as a PTA officer
Must be willing to work as a team to provide programs and fun experiences to our students, families, and staff.
